-
Make sure that the information in your press release is
trustworthy and is about a company in Michigan or of interest to Michigan
consumers or businesses.
-
Make sure the first 10 words of your release are effective,
as they are the most important. The "Short Story" should be
one to four sentences.
-
Avoid excessive use of adjectives and fancy language and deal
with the facts. Remember that you are submitting a press release, not an
article.
-
Provide as much Contact information as possible: Company,
contact person, address, phone, fax, email, web site address. The
email address must be valid. Releases without contact information will
be rejected.
-
Make sure you wait until you have something with enough
substance to issue a release. Ask yourself, "Would I take the
time to read this release?"
-
Do not place excessive website links. This will be
considered spamming and your release will not get published. About one
link per 100 words is sufficient.
