ART VAN FURNITURE DONATES 11 MATTRESSES TO THE RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE OF DETROIT
Art Van Furniture recently donated 11 brand new mattresses to the Ronald McDonald House of Detroit. The beds will be delivered to the House on Tuesday, July 27 and will be placed in newly renovated rooms. The Ronald McDonald House is a 16,00 square foot “home away from home” for parents and family of ill children. Art Van Furniture has been a supporter of the charity in years past.

Riders will travel from Manistee to the Bridge to Alpena ending in Port Huron with an evening event, Gathering of the Guard. July 17 Car Wash to Benefit Alzheimer’s Association
Southfield, Mich. – A car wash will be held at The Fountains at Franklin, 28301 Franklin Road on Saturday, July 17th from 10am to 2pm with 100% of proceeds to benefit the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Michigan Chapter. Managers, staff members, residents and families will volunteer their time to wash as many cars as they can get their hands on in the parking lot of the retirement community. Their goal: to exceed $350 in car wash sales, the total they raised last year for the same cause. Lemonade and baked goods will also be available. Donations of any size will be accepted. The rain date for the car wash is August 7th.
“We are pleased to support the efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association, whose mission is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health,” said Cathy Lubanski, Executive Director for The Fountains at Franklin.
According to Lubanski, a team from The Fountains at Franklin will also participate in the upcoming Memory Walk in on August 28, one of ten walks organized by the Greater Michigan Chapter. Memory Walk is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer care, support and research.
According to the Alzheimer’s Association website, “Year-round, our participants are leaders in the effort to defeat this devastating disease.” Since 1989, Memory Walk has raised more than $300 million, the website states.
